Location is always an important consideration when buying a home or even highlighting it as a feature when selling. Buyers with pets that need extra exercise and socialization may want to be close to the best neighborhood dog parks. The great news is that Phoenix and Scottsdale have many great dog-friendly or secure dog parks for your pets. Finding a home near these parks may be the piece of the puzzle that seals the deal.
Scottsdale Chaparral Dog Park, located on Hayden Road, is a favorite to many in the area. It boasts over 3 acres of space and is split into three zones with amazing views of the McDowell Mountains. This park is so well maintained that one of the three spaces is permanently closed for turf rehab and maintenance. The play features for the dogs, and the seating and congregating features for the pet owners make this arguably the best dog park in Scottsdale.

Hance Dog Park near downtown Phoenix is the perfect place for the urbanites nearby. Close to the historic neighborhoods of Willo and FQ Story, as well as all the condo and apartment towers downtown, this 1-acre park is in the center of it all. The park features two separate play areas for large and small dogs. Bring the kids and play next door as Hance Park has upgraded features for the whole family (leash required outside the dog park space).

For residents in Uptown, Steele Indian School Dog Park offers ample space for your pet to run and stretch their legs. Just under two acres, this park is split up into two areas by dog size, just like Hence Dog Park. It is also part of the large Steele Indian School Park, which makes it a perfect outing for the whole family. Because the City of Phoenix dog parks close for a few weeks each summer for maintenance, check their site to stay on top of any closures.

My favorite dog park hasn’t opened yet, but I can’t wait. Bar K is moving its operations to Phoenix and plans to open a new dog park concept with extra commercial space: a restaurant, bar, and event space. With successful parks in Kansas City and Oklahoma City, this space will be a hit when it opens.
With great parks and open spaces for your dog to run around, The Valley is a place to spoil your dog and work out that extra energy. If pet features for your home or proximity to these spaces are essential to you as a buyer, let us know and we can help find the right home in the right spot for you.
